My path to styling wasn't exactly traditional. Before working in fashion and retail, I spent years as a social worker, an experience that taught me the importance of listening, building relationships, and understanding what makes people feel like themselves. Those skills have become just as important to my work as knowing great clothes.

 

I went on to manage and buy for upscale boutiques before moving into personal styling, where I began working with both men and women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and lifestyles. Along the way, I developed  expertise in custom menswear and discovered how much I love creating clothing specifically for the person wearing it. ​

I eventually started JR Personal Styling because I wanted to offer something more personal than a traditional shopping or styling experience.

I don't believe great style means chasing every trend or replacing everything in your closet. Sometimes it's a custom sport coat made just for you. Sometimes it's finding the perfect pair of jeans. And sometimes it's realizing that something you already own just needs to be reimagined and styled differently.

My job is to figure out what works for you - your lifestyle, your body, your personality, and your budget-and make the process easy.

Because when you feel good in what you're wearing, it changes the way you show up in the world.
